The first generation blues has gotten to me. There are only six titles out for the Dreamast that I own and I want my Marvel Vs. Capcom..heehee. So I broke down and bought Godzilla Generations. I know what you are thinking..WHY? Well I love Godzilla and the game just looked freakin kool mmkay. I got it and ripped open the package and....

the game started up..heehee, and the intro was cool...short but nonetheless cool. So I figured, hey this is gonna be great; smashing buildings, terrorizing Tokyo, and just havin a stompin good time(pun very well intended). Well my hopes and dreams came to a halt as the game started up, not a bad hault mind you, but a HELLO! halt. The game was absolutely beautiful to look at. Godzilla popped up on my screen and just took me by storm. He gave off his blood-curdling growl and I was off to destroy some landscape!

Ok, now with the smal talk aside it is time to get serious. GG is a stunning game graphically and deserves to be looked at by every "hardcore" gamer. The city is so detailed it is scary, I get scared sometimes thinking I am going to really kill somebody living in one of the houses I have destroyed.

The control is where my dreams came to a halt. They are very slow and non-responsive. This is not a huge problem, but does take some getting used to. It is very similar to the control used in Resident Evil, but not nearly as responsive.

The game does, however have its great moments. Like the first time you demolish a skyscraper and watch it tumble onto the ground, or the first time you use your fire breath to dismantle a few annoying tanks. The game kind of reminds me of a mix between Rampage and Blast Corps. The style is so unique it is a deadly combination.

After all is said and done GG is not a bad first generation game, there just isnt much to it. The game sports great graphics and sub-par control. The levels are kind of repetitive but still add new flavor upon each new one. If you are in dyer need of a new DC game pick up GG, it may just grow on you.
