ZeroTolerance's E3 Playstation Section
Here is a list of some games ZeroTolerance had to speak on, note that not every game is going to be here because there was just way too many games to talk about them all!
Um Jammer Lammy--With this year's E3 show being chock full of sequels ZT had to get his hands on this one. Being a huge fan of the original Parappa I was expecting so much from Um Jammer Lammy. All of the fun and joy of the original Parappa had to be there or else I would be disappointed. I grabbed the controller and went to town...at first I was confused. The layout was quite different and the rhythm was kind of hard to get into. Its not as easy to be unique with a guitar as it is with Parappa's funky lyrics. The game seemed to be lacking in originality and fun factor. I hope the game has more to offer when it comes out because my first impressions are not high! Jet Moto 3--More sequels than you can shake a stick at!! Lets just say that this game better come a long way before its release. Giving credit where credit is due the game isnt all that bad. The only things I see wrong so far are lack of textures, which will surely be remedied, and slow framerate. These problems will be fixed before the final release...right? 989 has yet to disappoint me with any conversions as of yet so lets hope this isnt their first. Gran Turismo 2--Please Sony dont toy with me!! The demo gave you two cars and like one track...sheesh!! I wanted more, I was drooling for more, but I came up empty handed. Oh well, I will just have to wait until this fall to get a glimpse of this amazing title eh? As far as what I got to play..one word impressive...most impressive, although very much like the first one. But is this a bad thing!?! Ape Escape--This was probably the best game Sony had on display at the show. This game was absolutely addicitive and fun as hell!! I have never once palyed a platform game that had me coming back for more. The graphics were stellar and the control was flawless. The first game to take full advantage (at least in the states) of both analog sticks and the R3 and L3 buttons!! A true hardcore gamers dream come true. I cant wait for this game, beautiful Sony absolutely beautiful. Fans of Crash and Spyro beware there is a new face in the platform genre called Ape Escape! Wipeout 3--Psygnosis is back baby...awwww YEAH! This time bringing one of the best PS racers back from the dead...WIPEOUT!! The game was definitely very early but playing it was breathtaking. The control was flawless and the graphics, although a bit grainy were still spectacular! This game is going to be awesome and ZT can only droll awaiting its release. Be sure to keep checking back to ZT's Game Domain for more info on this beauty as it becomes available! Final Fantasy VIII--Ok what can I say? I mean you have all heard the hype. You have all played the demo. You have all wet your pants. I played some of the final US game and let me tell you. Come September all hell is breaking loose as one of the last great PS games makes its way to us US gamers, we can only sit and watch as armageddon approaches. This one is going to be awesome baby yeah!! Dino Crisis--Capcom is keeping the survival horror alive, only this time with Dinosaurs. This game is pretty much like Resident Evil, but dammit that is a good thing! It has a much higher scare factor because the enemies are free-roaming. Which means they can go anywhere you can, so the game could be different every time you play it! All I can say is that I played this game for only five minutes before I screamed "Mommy!" Resident Evil 3 Nemesis--back to the basics here. One of the best just keeps getting better! This time you onyl play as Jill and the story takes place 24 hours before and 24 hours after Resident Evil 2. Hopefully this will tie up some loose ends from that game and finally solve the mystery behind Umbrella. Quake 2--Only a small demo, but to say the least an impressive one. I saw this game running four screens with major action going on and never dropping below 30fps. This running on the PS impresses me alot. I cant wait to play some deathmatch on this baby when it hits store shelves this fall! That is about all for my previews. Other honorable mentions were Jackie Chan's Stuntmaster, MK Special Forces, JoJo's Adventure, WCW Mayhem, SouthPark, RC Stunt Copter, and of course Shao Lin. If there is any game you were wondering about please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] and I will be happy to asnwer any questions you may have. This is ZT sayin see-ya! |
