It was bound to happen sooner or later. There have been numerous amounts of snowboarding games for the PS, but never has anyone attempted a skateboarding game. In comes Electronic Arts with the marvelous Street Sk8er. The first of its kind, unless you count the X-Treme series, but that wasnt solely skateboarding though. Known for making some outstanding titles in the world of gaming EA certainly had their work cut out for them, not only was this the first skating game, but it was also the first 3-D skating game on the system. The control had to be just right or else Street Sk8er would have ended up DOA.

Well EA did an amazing job of capturing the true feel of skateboarding. From rail slides to monster flips and jumps, SS delivers an amazing punch in the world of extreme sports videogames. The control is quite unique, where speed is the key to pull off major air combos and sick tricks! The tracks are great and provide plenty of ramps and jumps to keep you doing tricks for hours. There are several different boards and riders, each one unique and with enough style to make the game extremely diverse. There is also a ton of hidden stuff in this game like a female ninja on rollerblades and a monkey that has some crazy tricks!

Everything in this game just feels right, from the control to the courses it all fits so well and makes for a heck of a multi-player game. I highly recommend this game, even to non skateboard fans, it is fun, unique, and very innovative at the same time. This is a classic and deserves to be given a look. This is ZT sayin c-ya!
